Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about the Festivities:
Will there be transportation provided to the events?
There will be transportation provided to the Welcome Dinner and the Wedding Reception. Transportation will not be provided for the Benvenuti in Piedmonte.
Please see the Pick-Up Info tab of our website for pick-up and drop-off times from each hotel.
What should I wear to the Benvenuti in Piemonte?
Come as you are! If you’re stopping by after a long drive or flight there is no need to change. We will be in casual attire and may bring swimsuits depending on the weather.
What should I wear to the Welcome Dinner?
Ladies, think bright colored sundresses or a bold fun outfit.
Gents, think linen pants or khakis and a button down, or go all-out with something unique. Have fun with it!
What should I wear to the Wedding?
Ladies, please wear midi or floor length dresses and see the note below about shoe selection.
Gents, do you have a tux you’ve been waiting for an occasion to wear? Now is your chance! If you don’t own a tux, any suit you have is perfect.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn’t I wear?
We recommend comfortable shoes for both men and women during your time in the Piedmont. Most villages are hilly with cobblestone streets, vineyards have uneven grass, and the wedding venue is full of gravel. As a result, you might want to bring sneakers or other casual shoes for general travel around the area.
The actual wedding ceremony and reception are black tie optional, so we recommend that women opt for a chunky heel and steer clear of stilettos for both comfort and safety!
We also support bringing a change of shoes (flip flops/sneakers) if needed for the dance floor.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please let us know within your RSVP about any food restrictions. The venue is more than happy to accommodate any restrictions, but they require advanced notice.
Questions about Travel to Italy:
What is the tipping etiquette in Italy?
Tipping is neither required, nor expected in most scenarios unless you feel that you have had exceptional service… in that case, tip 10%. The one exception is for tour guides. Feel free to read this article for a guide to tipping.
Do merchants and restaurants typically take credit card?
Yes, credit cards (even tap ones) and Apple Pay are quite common. While most places accept Visa and Mastercard, the ability to pay with an American Express credit card is more limited.
We recommend checking with your hotel for the accepted methods of payment and ensure that you don’t have foreign transaction fees on your credit card of choice. You may need to carry a little bit of cash for restaurants, bars, and shops in small villages.
How is the weather in the Piedmont region?
The late spring in the Piedmont region is typically in the mid-70s during the day and low 60s at night. We plan to host the majority of events outside, so be sure to pack a jacket for the events. There may be the occasional rain storm, so we also recommend you pack a light rain jacket and/or umbrella in case of wet weather.
What is the easiest way to get an international phone plan?
We have researched international SIM cards, Google Voice, and other options, and still find that simply going through your U.S. carrier is the easiest / lowest stress option. If you have AT&T or Verizon, it costs $12/day to use your same U.S. plan overseas (AT&T only charges for up to 10 days per billing cycle). If you have T-Mobile, depending on the plan, you may have international coverage included for a low fee. In all cases, it might be worth calling your carrier to set up international usage and get any questions answered.

Is there a gifts registry?
We understand that you are traveling overseas to celebrate with us in Italy. Your presence means the world to us and is truly the only gift that we ask for!
For those of you who insist (thank you!), we’ve added a tab with our registry.
